FAQ
Putting ScanSnap to Work : Case Studies
Smart !
Vital information I need to do my job is often scattered all around the office. I need a quick, easy, and cost effective method for digitizing paper. Where do I start?
I usually bring a number of printed documents on business trips. My laptop is heavy enough to carry, but I need these materials for reference. Is there a way to make this easier?
I am concerned about the space these images will take up on my PC and network storage locations. What can ScanSnap do for me?
Our company spends large amounts of money on paper, binders, file folders, and storage cabinets to store paper documents. The cost of these office supplies continues to escalate.
Easy !
I do not want to learn (another) complex application just to be able to use my scanner.
Convenient !
When I return from business trips I often carry business cards from my meetings and contacts. Often I will enter this information by hand into my contact management application.
When faxing documents I cannot truly represent the look of the original. Color documents sent to customers by fax is converted to a low-quality, black and white image. The effect is totally lost and it makes a bad impression.
We want to send estimates and other formal correspondence via fax or e-mail to some international customers but using fax can be expensive, and sending sensitive information by an e-mail is inappropriate and can lead to omissions and errors.
I prefer to search for files visually and browsing. MS Windows makes this easier by providing thumbnails images of files displayed. I have noticed that PDF files do not display as thumbnail images in MS Windows.
Speedy !
When scan a large volume of documents for a group project, the project took a very long time to complete by using flatbed. It had no automatic document feeder. I thought this was a waste of my time.
Many of the documents I need to scan are more than one page. What can ScanSnap do to make this process go faster?
I would like to quickly circulate meeting minutes to everyone concerned immediately after meetings are over, but sometimes I have little or no time to write formal reports.
Compact !
My flatbed scanner takes up a lot of space on my desktop. For my next scanner purchase I would like something more compact and easier to handle.
Secure !
Many of the documents I scan are confidential. How can I make certain the images I send are being viewed by the intended party?
