	Scans anything from business cards to A3 sized documents

	Not only can ScanSnap digitize A4, B5, A5, B6, A6 and business card sized documents, but the included "Carrier Sheet" enables it to scan A3 and B4 sized documents as well^[1]. ScanSnap is also capable of digitizing irregular sized (custom sized^[2]) documents. [Note1] ScanSnap automatically combines separate images created by folding an A3 or B4 sized document in half. (Note that joined images may be slightly misaligned or be separated by a narrow gap.) [Note2] Scanning ranges can be set for document widths ranging from 50.8mm to 216mm and lengths ranging from 50.8mm to 360mm. [Note3] This does not apply to the fi-5110EOXM.

Digitizes photographs and cut-outs

Use of the included "Carrier Sheet" enables users to scan treasured photographs and documents that they do not wish harmed as well as irregularly shaped documents. ScanSnap is also able to adjust its cropping to fit the size of the scanned document.

The Carrier Sheet is a sheet for loading document specifically designed for ScanSnap fi-5110EOX2.
The Carrier Sheet allows you to scan documents that cannot be scanned as it is; a document larger than A4 up to A3, B4 or 11 x 17 (single side) can be scanned by folding it in two, inserting it into the Carrier Sheet and scanning in duplex mode.
Also, using the Carrier Sheet, you can scan documents that can be easily scratched such as photographs or irregular-shaped documents that are difficult to load on the scanner such as clippings of information (magazine, newspaper, etc.).
The following explains how to insert documents into the Carrier Sheet.
There are 2 [Modes], tailored to the type of document to be scanned, in the Carrier Sheet settings.

	Automatically eliminates blank pages

	Since ScanSnap automatically eliminates blank pages, each scanning job progresses smoothly, even when scanning combinations of one-sided and two-sided documents.

ScanSnap improves productivity by enabling users to easily manage business card data and create customer contact lists

Through using its bundled "CardMinder" software, ScanSnap can capture information from images it has created from multiple business cards and feed this data into programs such as Microsoft® Excel® or Outlook Express.

Creates secure and searchable PDF files

The bundled Adobe® Acrobat® 7.0 Standard enables ScanSnap to create tamper proof PDF files that support digital signature verification. Furthermore, ScanSnap created PDF files are fully searchable.

[Note] The fi-5110EOXM does not support Adobe® Acrobat® 7.0 standard's search function.

	Protects the contents of scanned files

	"ScanSnap Manager" enables users to attach passwords to ScanSnap created PDF files. Thus, ensuring that only people who know the assigned password can open the PDF file or even see its thumbnail image. [Note] The fi-5110EOXM does not support attaching passwords to PDF files.

	Auto-de-skew and auto-image rotation*

	ScanSnap automatically corrects any misaligned text (plus or minus 5°), permitting aligned scans to be made from poor quality documents. Also, the auto-image rotation application displays every scanned page in its proper orientation. [Note1] CPU: Intel® Pentium®4 1.8GHz or higher is recommended [Note2] The fi-5110EOXM does not support "auto-image rotation".
