ScanSnap Organizer (3)

Question Why does my ScanSnap take so long to display images?
Answer
Please check the following:
  • Are PDF files being displayed using a CD-ROM?
  • Is cache data being continuously updated?

An "Update Package" site for updating image quality can be accessed at the following address; http://scansnap.fujitsu.com/........... . Please check to see that your ScanSnap's image quality has been updated.

[Note]
When ScanSnap has been installed in a system that supports access the Internet, you can update your ScanSnap Organizer by selecting "Online Update (U)" from the "Help (H)" menu.

Additional information:
ScanSnap Organizer generates cache data for the purpose of updating image quality. This cache data is saved in order to create PDF files that can be displayed as thumbnails and for generating hidden ".organizer" folders. Thus, cache data only contains information pertaining to what is displayed in thumbnail images.

[Note]
Please refrain from erasing cache data, since its removal may affect how images are displayed.

However, since "ScanSnap Organizer" is not capable of generating cache data from PDF files created for devices that do not support CD-ROMs, ScanSnap is not capable of directly updating this image data. In order to update image data stored in this type of PDF file, temporarily save this data on your computer's hard drive and proceed to save this information using a CD.

Cache data uses the time and date attached to a PDF file to check whether or not the file has been updated. In cases where a system's timing falls behind the date and time indicated on the PDF file, "ScanSnap Organizer" will continuously generate cache data until the cache data timing matches that of the system timing. Please use one of the following countermeasures to ensure that this does not happen.
  • Ensure that the system is set for the correct date and time
  • Set the PDF date and time so that it is running ahead of that being indicated by the system.
