Question Can I search text data in PDF image created by "ScanSnap"?
Answer
PDF data created by ScanSnap is image data, which cannot be searched as is. However, it is possible to search text in these PDF files by using Adobe® Acrobat® 7.0 Standard's "Recognize Text Using OCR" function, which performs OCR (optical character recognition) on them.
  1. To use "Recognize Text Using OCR" function, open the PDF file you wish to convert with Adobe® Acrobat® 7.0 Standard

  2. Select "Start..." found in "Recognize Text Using OCR" in "Document" on the menu bar.

  3. Select the necessary settings in "Recognize Text" window, then click the "OK" button.

The text information is added to the image data by the "Recognize Text Using OCR" function.
