["Automatic image de skew"]
Misaligned documents are detected and corrected based upon lines of text. ScanSnap corrects any misaligned text up to a maximum of plus or minus 5 degrees. Since ScanSnap refers to lines of text to correct any misalignment, the following types of documents may not be properly aligned when using the automatic image de skew function.
- Documents where gaps appear between the text, documents with lines of text containing letters that are too small or those containing overlapping letters.
- Documents containing many outlined characters or fancy letters.
- Documents containing little text and many pictures or diagrams.
- Documents with a patterned background.
- Documents whose lines of text do not run parallel with included drawings.
- Documents containing several long lines running perpendicular to each other.
- Manuscripts
When scanning documents that meet any of the previous descriptions, remove the check from the "Allow automatic image de skew" check box.

- Documents containing little text and many pictures or diagrams.
