Should I take any precautions prior to connecting "ScanSnap" to a USB port?
Prior to connecting the scanner to the USB, carefully review the following information.
Only use the USB cable that came with the scanner.
Wait 5 seconds after disconnecting the USB before connecting it again. Your scanner may not work properly if you do not wait this long before reconnecting it.
Do not unplug the power cable while the USB cable is connected. This may cause errors that will prevent the scanner from operating properly.

Intel 82371 AB/EB PCI to USB Universal Host Controller
Intel 82371 SB PCI to USB Universal Host Controller
