FAQ - fi-5110EOX |
|
 |
What are the differences between the old (fi-4110EOX2) and the new (fi-5110EOX) ScanSnap? |
 |
 |
 |
 |
The following features appear on the fi-5110EOX:
 |
Its modern look comes with power saving technology.
When the scanner is not in use, the ADF cover (paper feed tray) can be closed as shown below. Closing the cover shuts off the power, improving energy efficiency (The scanner's power supply can also be turned on/off with the ADF cover opened.) |

New functions have been added to automatically correct misaligned documents and orientation.
When "Allow automatic image deskew." is activated, the scanner automatically detects and corrects any misaligned text (plus or minus 5 degrees). This function permits skewed documents, such as faxes or photocopies, to be scanned with greater accuracy.
Also, by activating "Allow automatic image rotation", the scanner automatically identifies the top and bottom of the document as well as whether it is in portrait or landscape, and rotates each image so that it appears in the proper orientation.
Note: environment: CPU Pentium® 4 1.8GHz or above is recommended.

sRGB(*1) enables ScanSnap to reproduce colors with greater accuracy.
sRGB is used to accurately reproduce the colors of the original document. Also, "Excellent"(*2) reproduces a document's original colors at even higher definitions.
| (*1) |
sRGB is an international color standard that defines tones and saturation in order to standardize varying color ranges produced by different equipment. Since ScanSnap uses sRGB standards, there is little variance between color appearing on the computer monitor and those printed out. |
| (*2) |
Color: 600dpi, B/W: 1200dpi |

 |
A high compression mode has been added.
An "Enable High Compression" tab has been added to the "Scan and Save Settings" dialog box for saving scanned images. Note: When "Enable High Compression" has been activated, all documents are scanned in "Color", regardless of which scanning mode ScanSnap has been set for.

Regarding average file sizes, please refer to "What is the file size of a saved image file?", located in the "Once you have started" section. |
 |
Excellent mode has been added
Excellent mode increases ScanSnap's maximum scanning resolution to 600dpi
for color and 1,200dpi for black and white. Thus, improving image quality
over the already high quality images produced by the ScanSnap fi-4110EOX2. |
 |
Users can replace consumables
ScanSnap fi-5110EOX enables users to replace the pad assembly and pick roller; therefore, lengthening ADF life and ensuring high quality scanning for many years. |
