ScanSnap Connect Application can be used to scan documents.
Perform a scan in the following procedure.
Open the ADF paper chute (cover) of iX500.
Pull the stacker on the ADF top section towards you.
Pull out the extension on the ADF paper chute (cover) and open the stacker.
Load the documents in the ADF paper chute (cover).
Load the documents face-down and top-first with their back facing you. Load the documents so that they are not beyond the reference marks within the side guides.
ATTENTION
Do not leave more than 50 sheets (80 g/m² or 20 lb.) of ejected documents on the stacker.
Automatic image rotation is not available when scanning with ScanSnap Connect Application.
Adjust the side guides to the width of the documents.
Do not leave space between the side guides and the documents.
Otherwise, the documents may be fed skewed.
Perform a scan.
To scan from ScanSnap Connect Application
Tap [Scan] on the [File List] screen.
To scan from iX500
Press the [Scan] button on iX500.
A message appears indicating that the file is being received.
The received file will appear on the [File List] screen. HINT
When you set [Continue Scanning] to on for [Scanning] in the [Profile] window and perform a scan, a confirmation message appears for continuous scanning.
Load documents in iX500. Then, tap [Continue] or press the [Scan] button on iX500 to continue scanning.
To end the scan, tap [Exit].
To save the received file in the photo album, set [Save to photo album] to on (in the [File format] window from [Profile]).
In the photo album, confirm that the image data meets your requirements.
On the [File List] screen, tap next to the file.
The [Preview] screen appears.
Confirm that the image data meets your requirements.
If it does not meet the requirements, connect the computer with iX500, and then receive the file using "Scan to Mobile". HINT
You can send and view the received file in another application.
ATTENTION
The scanned data will be discarded if you exit ScanSnap Connect Application during scanning.
When an event (e-mail arrival, alarm, power shortage, etc.) is notified, the mobile device will be disconnected from iX500 and scanning will be canceled.
In this case, you can keep the scanned data created before the disconnection, however, you cannot continue scanning the rest of the document.
Up to 1,000 files can be received with ScanSnap Connect Application.
If the total number of files including existing files in ScanSnap Connect Application would exceed 1,000, start receiving the files after deleting unnecessary files in ScanSnap Connect Application.
Up to 1,000 pages can be created for a single PDF file.
Long page scanning is not available by holding down the [Scan] button on iX500 for 3 seconds until it starts flashing in blue.
To scan a long page document, use Scan to Mobile from ScanSnap Manager to send the file to your mobile device.
Scanning using Carrier Sheet is not available.
To scan a document with Carrier Sheet, use Scan to Mobile from ScanSnap Manager to send the file to your mobile device.
Do not close the application while receiving a file. Otherwise, it may slow down the next startup because the [File List] screen will take time to reload.
